Orphan Project

Addressing the Needs of Orphans in Lebanon

This project was developed and implemented, with funding from USAID’s Leahy War Victims Fund, in response to the worsening socio-economic conditions of the country and overwhelming needs particularly among orphans, children in orphan-like conditions, and widows and their families.
The components of the program were developed with the aim to prevent delinquency among children and address the needs of children and families living under difficult conditions. This was possible through rehabilitation and social integration programs implemented by more than 120 institutions.
Such programs included: building capacities of native NGOs through the provision of equipment, materials, and training programs; supporting public awareness activities including conferences, seminars, and workshops; as well as initiating socio-economic development at an institutional level.
